Day 4: Equal Money – let’s Change the Operating System of the World

If you’re someone that is doing work on a computer or just someone that uses the computer for fun and games, or just occasionaly to get some information from the internet – you’d be very suprised if you’d be forced to use an operating system dating decades ago.

DOS Operating System

Considering you know that there are all these fine, new, user friendly operating system all around, but in the land where you live, it is an unquestioned rule to use DOS. The computer – the hardware is perfectly able to support a newer operating system, but the goverment, those in power – have decided. We’ll only going to use DOS, we profit from DOS (for whatever reason), so nobody is allowed to advance. In this land, it is a criminal offence to change your operating system. People in this land, as a result of this, struggle to get their work done, struggle to keep up with the rest of the world, often end up hungry and starving as they can’t make enough money as the tool they’re forced to use is inadequate.

Does such a scanario sound crazy to you? Completely unrealistic? Who on Earth would do that? It surely does to me.

Yet, we all accept and allow such an ordeal to exist within our society as it is currently. It is the operating system of the World System – Capitalism. Concieved anywhere between 14th to 17th century by the monarchs, tyrants and those that dominated the poor – we live within and as it to this very day.

In a society where we’ve developed robots and factories that have and where it is still remaining, can replace all the repetetive manual labor, in a society where we have the internet as a global neural network where democratic decisions can be made by the equal participation of everyone connected – we still allow the elite, the rich, the monarch to completely dominate and make all the important decisions.

This operating system of Capitalism is outdated. It’s full of fatal errors that, opposed to a software, result in the degradation and extermination of millions of lives, daily. It is an abomination. It is a complete failure.

Yet this failure, within the mainstream, is largely ignored. There is no definitive drive towards a solution. There is only a smoke screen as politics and media that those in power project where complete bullshit is presented to distract the masses and give the illusion that something is happening, politicians are battling with crises, are finding solutions for problems, etc. But this is all within the rules, terms and regulations of Capitalism. Limiting oneself to these rules, terms and regulations is to deliberately blind oneself to and ignore the fact the game, as Capitalism, is the problem itself. And has to be replaced completely.

It’s time to fix this. Just like a community of people can develop a completely free, freely available to everyone and anyone to use and benefit from, operating system that now powers 80% of the internetwe can develop a new economic system. In fact it is our duty, as the failure so, will undoubtedly means the collapse of the human civilization.
